Gut and Digestive Health

Why Digestive Health Matters for Wellness and Prevention

Digestive health plays a major role in how we feel every day. When the gut is working well, it supports energy, mood, immunity, metabolism, and overall comfort. When it’s not, even small issues can affect sleep, appetite, movement, and quality of life. Paying attention to gut symptoms early—and treating problems before they grow—helps prevent long‑term complications and keeps the whole body functioning at its best. At T Wellness, we view digestive care as a key part of a healthy lifestyle and a foundation for long‑term wellness.

Constipation

When bowel movements are hard, infrequent, or difficult to pass.  This can cause bloating, discomfort, or a feeling of not being fully  “empty.”

IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)

A common condition that causes belly pain, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation, or a mix of both. Symptoms often come and go.

Lactose Intolerance

Difficulty digesting milk or dairy products, which can lead to gas, bloating, cramps, or diarrhea after eating them.

Celiac Disease

An immune reaction to gluten (found in wheat, barley, and rye)  that damages the small intestine and causes digestive and whole‑body  symptoms.

GERD (Acid Reflux)

When stomach acid flows back into the esophagus, causing heartburn, chest discomfort, or a sour taste in the mouth.

Gastritis

Irritation or inflammation of the stomach lining that can cause nausea, burning, or upper‑stomach pain.

Diverticulosis

Small pockets in the colon wall that can cause bloating or discomfort. These pockets can sometimes become inflamed or infected.

Colon Cancer Screening

Tests that check for early signs of colon  cancer before symptoms appear. Screening helps find problems early, when  they are easiest to treat.

Gastrointestinal procedure Referrals available

Colonoscopy

A test where a specialist uses a small camera to look inside the colon to check for polyps, bleeding, or early signs of cancer.

Upper Endoscopy (EGD)

A procedure that uses a thin camera to look at the esophagus,  stomach, and upper small intestine to find causes of heartburn, nausea,  or stomach pain.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy

A shorter version of a colonoscopy that looks at the lower part of the colon to check for polyps, inflammation, or bleeding.

Other GI Procedures

Additional tests—such as imaging or specialized scopes—used to diagnose digestive issues based on your symptoms and needs.
